Sunday 3/28 Hwy 36 loop

Sunday March 28 I'm headed up to the top of California on a little sport touring ride to hit one of my all time favorite roads Hwy 36 .

Check this thread for some great pics by Waterboy of the scenery and curves.

I'm leaving from the *$ in Vacaville at 80 and Alamo 0700.
The route is straight up I-5 to Red Bluff, then across hwy36 to Fortuna.
Then back across hwy 36 again to Red Bluff and home on I-5.

That's 4 hours of slab and about 6 hours nonstop on some of the finest twisties in the state.

Total about 550 miles with 3 planned gas stops, stopping in Red Bluff for a late breakfast and Fortuna for lunch.

Any and all who want to come along are welcome, but I wouldn't suggest this day ride for newer riders because of the length.

The weather should be perfect Sunday for getting out of your "back yard".

Wow that ride looks amazing. I got a buddy who has a 1150 RT, we usually try to go out and check out roads just like this. Can't do Sunday, I might try for Saturday.

Please Pm me if you ever include HWY 36 in a two day ride. Coming from Fremont I would be adding 150+ miles and 2+ hours. I just can not do that in one day.

It is ON.
Departure at 0700. The *$ is located on Alamo.

If your going eastbound on I-80 in Vacaville I believe the exit is called Alamo, follow the off ramp to the right and look on your right for the starbucks / gas station / KFC / Mickey Ds.

If your going westbound on I-80 I believe the exit is called Merchant. Follow the off ramp to the first light, go right on Alamo and after you cross over the highway look on your right for the starbucks / gas station / KFC / Mickey Ds mecca of commerce.

If you're coming from the Alamo/Peabody area, look for the Starbucks on Alamo on the left just past McDonalds and before you cross over I-80.

If anyone coming has FRS, that would be great.

Almost forgot:

GOLD!
